The Fieldstone Building (continued)

the cultural icon who represented the six million women working in manufacturing plants during that time.

After World War II, the fieldstone building was purchased by an ophthalmologist, who resided in the back section and used the front portion as his office.

He eventually moved to another dwelling in Ramsey, choosing to divide the fieldstone building into two separate sections, renting the front space as an office and the back space as an apartment.

In 1968, J. Michael Asher purchased and renovated the building, then opened up Golden Triangle Stamps, where he bought and sold stamps and coins. Asher sold the building to realtor James St. J. Hughes in 1971, moving his operation to the building next store where he is still in business today.

The fieldstone building housed two different insurance companies over a period of time before it was purchased by the current owners, Rick and Violet Laurenzo.

Fieldstone Fine Art Gallery is proud to be a part of this historical structure. We look forward to adding a history of our own within its walls.
